Going to Florida for a mini reunion w/Floyd Stern, Ron Ruthfield, Zale Bernstein, Hal Glassman, Linda Sluchak and spouses in February on Hutchinson Island.

Michael–you are absolutely correct. I owe you a long overdue apology for giving you such a hard time and teasing you for disrobing at my wedding. Now remember that taking your shirt off to help move the car that was in the ditch was one thing. But posing like a bodybuilder for the wedding photographer was something else. If you like, I will try to locate those pictures of you posing and put them on the site. We could show your progress photos from that time, through all your Ironman competitions, and then to the present day. Maybe we would see a change or two.
Nevertheless, reading your comments makes me laugh out loud at myself…and that is some of what I want everyone to experience from this site—amusement at a guy in his 60’s making some abs and flashing around the world, while I also don’t take myself too seriously. How could I—or anyone? It’s all for fun, along with a bit of thoughtfulness and education, in a world that is complicated and sometimes nasty.
I love you for being so honest. Your only bro…

I remember my brother, a mere 50 something at the time, giving me a bunch of grief a few years back. I had driven up from somewhere to attend his wedding. One of the guests, pulled off of the road, and got the car stuck. I offered to help push the car back onto the road. I only had one dress shirt, so I took it off to help push the car. Didn’t want tire marks or dirt on my only shirt at my brother’s reception. For years thereafter the story would come up about how I “took the opportunity” to show off my physique at his wedding. Now, many years behind us, I pull up pictures of that same brother, pulling his shirt up and showing off his abs online, in city streets, in front of tennis courts, hotel rooms, alleyways, and locker rooms. For the record, I wasn’t showing off! But then my abs were never remotely as good as yours bro! Keep up the great work.

But no, his system may have been just using a machine to do rowing backward and forward exercises for less than 24 minutes a day!
It’s kind of like Mr. Miyagi’s wax on, wax off thing. Row forward, and you give one set of muscles a workout. Row backward, and you do others. So, with this machine— you’ve got a total fitness system. Because you are exercising the abdominals and upper and lower legs as well. Whether you row on a lake or a machine, rowing is the best exercise for the entire body. Few activities are more invigorating than rowing.
Rowing works more muscle groups and joints through a wider range of motion than any other exercise system. If your exercise time is limited, rowing is a terrific choice. I congraatualte you on your initiative. I remeber about 30 years ago, during one of my single periods, I was going to start jogging. I purchased shoes and a jogging outfit. The next moring before I went out, I was reading the Miami Herald and came across an article about a doctor who was the head on the Miami Heart Institute on 47th Street. It seems he was out jogging the day before and suffered a fatal, massive heart attack. I promptly returned ALL the equipment and sat down to watch TV.
Since then, my exercise regimen ahs consisted of a brisk walk to the bathroom when necessary

franken foods are synthetic engineered foods where they cross varietes like corn with pig genes… monsanto is the big bad wolf here…there are all sorts of other genetically modified things which pass for edibles… most people are ignorant of such happenings because it’s so big & so pervasive & producers don’t label ingredients or hide them from us with fancy scientifc names…the general public is the ongoing experiment; monsanto actually has seeds that are engineered to produce for one season only, so that traditional cultures cannot harvest & use the seeds for another crop, they have to buy from monsanto again…all for the mighty $$$. this is dangerous to our health…we are tinkering with evolution!!

way to go cuz… talk about baring it all… appreciate your writing style. rooting for your washboard look… coincidentally been focusing on the abs myself… home progress-i’m not a gym fan or one who sticks with rigid schedules. i do things everyday when i feel like it ie: swimming, sit ups, leg ups, stretches, long walks on the beach… got a mini-tramp for circulation – moves all fluids in body especially lymph. live on the 7th floor & walk up & down the stairs instead of taking the elevator (minimum 1X daily.) work with weights, do bodyrolling & bongo boards. your dad (my uncle) influenced me too, ie: my profession as a bodyworker/ healter/ teacher, diet, lifestyle & attitude. check out the website of dr young: http://www.phmiracleliving.com... i’m aligned with his philosophies on health re: alkalinity & the quality of the blood…stay away from the frankenfoods – eat raw organic!
